Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance & Academic Services

Brevard College, a provisional member of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference is accepting applications for a 12 month full-time position for an Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Academic Services.  The position will coordinate the institution’s effort to comply with all NCAA, SAC and institutional rules and regulations and develop programs that support student-athletes’ progress toward a baccalaureate degree. Specific areas of responsibility include NCAA rules compliance, eligibility and financial aid, student-athlete welfare and academic support programs. The position reports to the Director of Athletics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor the College’s compliance systems to prevent potential violations. 
  • Develop a comprehensive rules education program that encourages compliance with all NCAA rules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Athletics Department and other constituencies with compliance responsibilities; coordinate the processes for certification of eligibility and financial aid.
  • Supervise the department’s use of the NCAA Compliance Assistant (CAi) software.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with NCAA Membership Services and the South Atlantic Conference for compliance-related matters. 
  • Prepare squad lists, eligibility forms, playing and practice season reports, hardship & administrative waivers, assist with NCAA Graduation & Retention Reports, and oversee administration of the National Letter of Intent.
  • Serve as liaison with the faculty on matters related to student-athlete academic performance.
  • Develop an academic support program for all student-athletes and direct the NCAA Champs/Life Skills programming.
  • Serve on the athletics administrative staff, and assists with the daily internal operations and strategic planning of the athletic program.
  • Assist with game day operations and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Desired qualifications include a minimum two years of related experience in compliance at the Division I or II level. Demonstrated experience in the following areas: Certification and monitoring of student-athlete eligibility, Conducting NCAA Rules Education Programs, Completing NCAA Graduation and Retention Reports, and Familiarity with NCAA Compliance Assistant Software. Demonstration of strong organizational, communication, and time management skills is required. Salary is commensurate with qualifications & experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
