Director of Bands and Coordinator of Music Education

Full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 2010.  Teaching responsibilities include conducting the college wind ensemble, instrumental methods in an applied area, conducting courses, and other courses determined by departmental and institutional need.  Other duties include oversight of college bands, supervision of activities relating to music education, participation in student recruitment efforts, developing relationships with music educators, supervision of student teachers, and involvement in departmental and college committees.  Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in wind ensemble conducting; proven ability to recruit students.  Ph.D., D.M.A. or equivalent preferred; ABD or Master’s degree will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with 2-5 years high school or college teaching experience, and/or music education certification. 
 
Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
