Faculty Position—Biology

Brevard College seeks an enthusiastic teacher to fill the following tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate (depending on experience) Professor, beginning Fall, 2010. 

Candidates must be interested in teaching biology at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, including both service courses and upper-level courses for the major.  Teaching responsibilities include introductory biology, microbiology, genetics, and an upper-level biology course.  In addition, the position will require teaching in the General Education curriculum including in the Brevard Common Experience with possible involvement in our Environmental Perspectives course; advising and mentoring of undergraduate students; and willingness to contribute to the college through service and scholarship.  Interests and skills in mentoring students who are conducting undergraduate research or who are pursuing certification to teach secondary-level science are also desired.  A Ph.D. is required. 

Brevard College, founded in 1853, is a residential liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church.  Situated in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Brevard College is located 33 miles southwest of Asheville, North Carolina.
