Fine Arts

The Fine Arts have been recognized as an important component of a humanistic, liberal arts education since the Renaissance. In the media-driven world of the 21st century, education in the visual arts is perhaps especially important in helping to shape and educate the next generation of involved and informed citizens. The Bachelor of Arts degree in Art at Brevard College prepares students for a career in applied studio or commercial art pursuits or for advanced study at the graduate level. The Art Department of Brevard College is dedicated to comprehensive study of the visual arts within an interdisciplinary, liberal arts context. The B.A. degree in Art provides experiential education through the production, theory and history of art and supports dedicated, life-long engagement in the visual arts. The Department fosters open inquiry, experimentation, pursuit of excellence and personal growth in an engaged learning environment.

Our Art program requires an emphasis in Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Sculpture or Art History.
