Fact Sheet

With a bias for action and innovation, and a commitment to the passionate pursuit of excellence in all aspects personal and professional life, the Business and Organizational Leadership Program is unique among business programs in that it emphasizes continuous learning and improvement, as well as responsibility to the community and environment. The Business and Organizational Leadership Program seeks to integrate knowledge from diverse disciplines in developing understanding and practical wisdom in the areas of business leadership and managerial competency.

What makes the Brevard College Business Program unique?
Inspired by the work of Dr. W. Edwards Deming, who taught Japanese and later American corporations the meaning of Quality Improvement, the program educates undergraduates on these same powerful principles of management and leadership which focus on active employee engagement and effective processes.

Moreover, consistent with the mission of the college the Business and Organizational Leadership major provides the type of business and economics training that leads to successful organizational leaders, responsible stewards of the land and active organizational and community citizens.

To this end we provide both traditional business classes as well as an emphasis on ethics and community participation. Students are encouraged to become active in local organizations. Additional opportunities include visits to various corporations (Volvo Construction, BMW, Toyota, Mission St. Joseph Hospital, etc.) supported by lectures from visiting business executives. Internships opportunities abound for Brevard College students.
