Located in the heart of the southern Blue Ridge Mountains, Brevard College gives you the opportunity to work with an excellent faculty at a small college in a challenging, yet supportive academic community. Whatever your goal after receiving your degree, Brevard College provides an exciting place to hone academic and musical skills.

Music major at Brevard College:
The Music Department at Brevard College is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. As a music major at Brevard, you have the option to select a course of study in one of the following areas:
• Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with Licensure (K-12).
• Bachelor of Music in vocal/instrumental performance
• Bachelor of Arts in music with optional emphases in music theory/history, composition, and jazz studies

What some of our recent graduates are doing now:
• Working at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
• Active Fulbright Scholars
• Teaching in public and private schools
• Attending graduate programs in music schools including Yale University, Indiana University, Florida
State University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and the New England Conservatory of Music
• Serving as church musicians
• Attending Divinity School

Scholarship Information:
Music scholarships are awarded based on the results of the student’s music audition. Typical music scholarships range from $500 to $5000 per academic year. Academic Awards: All eligible students, regardless of major, receive academic scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 through the Admission Office. Need based financial aid is also available for all qualified students filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A student’s financial award package is the TOTAL of Music scholarship, Academic awards, and Need-based financial aid. The average financial award for an entering freshman at Brevard College in fall 2005 was $14,500.
