In keeping with the mission of Brevard College, the Teacher Education Program’s goal is to prepare educators to be facilitators of learning for a diverse and dynamic world. The course work in this program provides modeling of best practices and features a strong experiential base that includes classroom observation and experiences attached to numerous courses. The program emphasizes reflection and active learning; students apply what they have learned in their college classroom to help facilitate their activities in the public schools. In addition to completing the required Professional Studies Courses for their level of licensure, students will complete the major (often with specified or additional courses) for the specific area of licensure as indicated below:
