Student Orientation
 

Welcome to Brevard College! We are excited about your arrival in August. As part of being a new student you are expected to attend Student Orientation — "Perfect Harmony Discovered." Whether you are a residential student or a commuter, a first-time freshman or a transfer student, you will attend Student Orientation. During these days before classes begin, you'll make friends, get connected on campus, find out about campus resources and become more acquainted with the culture and traditions of Brevard College.

Residential Students will move-in on Saturday, August 23rd, you will also attend Confirmation, to confirm your enrollment at Brevard College. Commuter Students need to come to campus for Confirmation and the Commuter Student Orientation Meeting in the afternoon, and then you will join your classmates for dinner. If you are a fall athlete you will have already moved in earlier in the month and will have attended Confirmation with your teammates.

On Sunday, August 24th, you will join your classmates on Mountain Journeys.  You will need to register your top three choices for Mountain Journeys by going to the Mountain Journeys. Information on how to register for Mountain Journeys will be available soon!

On Monday, August 25th, you will participate in a campus-wide day of service called Move a Mountain Day. That evening, you will participate in our Honor Code Ceremony.

On Tuesday, August 26th, you will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students with some fun filled activities followed by a session on how best to have academic success.  Tuesday afternoon you will meet with your Faculty Academic Advisor.  At 5:00 P.M. you will join upperclassmen, faculty and staff a Brevard College tradition, Opening Convocation. This ritual marks the beginning of your College Experience. This event is followed by an All Campus Dinner and Student Organization Fair before classes begin the following morning.

You have two assignments before coming in the Fall:

  1. Choose from the list of possible Mountain Journeys (Registration Now Open!).
  2. Take the Required On-line Alcohol-Wise Course. The Enrollment Control number is  BREVAW
