  • Confirm with your School Counselor that you are on track to graduate and make sure you are meeting entrance requirements for colleges that interest you. Remember: college athletes must meet eligibility requirements that are sometimes different than college admission requirements.
  • Register for the SAT or ACT for one of the fall dates.
  • Contact teachers about letters of recommendations.
  • Complete private campus visits at your top 2-3 schools. It is very important to compare and contrast schools through the campus visit so be sure you do so!
  • Narrow your choice of colleges and apply. Be sure to request your high school transcript be sent to all of your college choices.
  • Contact the Financial Aid Offices of your top schools to find out about specific information regarding scholarships and costs.
  • Get your own PIN number for your FAFSA form and force your parents to get their own, as well! You will both need your own PINs in order to complete the application process on-line, which is the fastest way to file. You can do this as early as you like in the Fall of your Senior Year.
  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as close to January 1 as possible. (or check our Resource page.) In order to complete the form, you will have to have your family’s tax information from the previous year. Encourage your family to complete their tax filing as early as possible in order for you to file.
  • Student Athletes should send their transcript to the NCAA Clearinghouse for eligibility certification.
  • Decide which school you will attend and accept their invitation to be a student!
  • Pay your enrollment fee to hold your position in the class.  This fee is refundable until May 1st.
  • Attend Summer Pre-Registration at Brevard College.
  • Enroll!
