The roots of Brevard College are deeply embedded in the educational initiatives in Western North Carolina during Nineteenth Centure.  Weaver College and Rutherford College, both established in 1853 along with Brevard Institute established in 1895 all are part of the fabric which history has woven into the contemporary Brevard College.
