Transfer Student
If transfer student, please list other school(s) attended. Give any significant information you wish regarding your experience in these situations:
Audition:
All prospective music majors must schedule an audition-interview in order to be admitted to the music curriculum. Audition dates for this academic year are listed below. Please check the date on which you plan to audition. If unusual circumstances prevent you from auditioning in person, a cassette tape may be submitted. Students are advised to audition early in order to receive maximum consideration for financial aid and music scholarships.
Audition Dates:
A letter will be sent from the Chair of the Division of Fine Arts confirming your audition date. This letter will also include a specific audition time. If your travel arrangements necessitate special time considerations, please indicate a preferred time (i.e. “late morning,” “early afternoon,” etc.).

An additional letter will be sent regarding your admission to the music curriculum. Scholarship awards will not necessarily be announced at the same time.

IF YOU HAVE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT THE DIVISION CHAIR AT (828) 884-8211, OR CALL THE MAIN SWITCHBOARD AT (828) 883-8292 AND ASK FOR THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT.
PLACEMENT TESTS:
All transfer students into the B.A. program will be required to take placement exams in Theory, Music History, and possibly other areas.
