Todd Anderson
Baseball Head Coach

The Brevard College Baseball program has experienced tremendous success over the nine years that it has competed as a four year institution, earning five conference titles and eight consecutive NAIA Region XII appearances. Last season marked the Tornados first official year as a member of the NCAA at the Division II level. This season will mark the first year for the Brevard College Baseball program as a provisional member of the South Atlantic Conference.
The Tornados will once again be led by Head Coach Todd Anderson. Last season was Coach Anderson’s second year as the Tornado Head Coach, compiling a 27-23 overall record. The highlights from the 2007 season campaign were many as the Tornados had victories over a number of NCAA Division II schools. A series victory over Presbyterian College on February 10-11, who is currently transitioning to the NCAA Division I level this season, saw the Tornados defeat the Blue Hose in both games of the Saturday doubleheader (6-4, 7-1). Brevard turned right back around and knocked off nationally ranked #14 USC-Aiken on February 20th by the score of 7-5. Against future SAC conference foes, the Tornados posted wins against Lincoln Memorial, Mars Hill, and Lenoir-Rhyne. Last season, the Tornado pitching staff posted one of the lowest team ERA’s in recent history at 4.06.
Coach Anderson is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he was drafted in 1995 by the Cleveland Indians. He also went on to play Independent Baseball in the Frontier League for the Ohio Valley Redcoats and the Dubois County Dragons. In 2003, Coach Anderson was given the honor of being the AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year Award. He began his coaching career nine years ago as an assistant coach here at Brevard College. Following the conclusion of the 2005 season, Coach Anderson took over the program following six seasons as the Head Assistant Coach. In his first two seasons at the helm of the Tornado baseball program, Anderson’s teams have knocked off five top-30 teams in the NCAA Division II poll and have averaged 27 wins per year.
Coach Anderson is married to his wife Alicia, a native of Brevard, and they are the proud parents of sons Riley, 2, and Brady, 2 months.
