Men's Cycling

Brevard College has made great leaps in its second season of mountain bike racing. In one year we have come from a team in its beginning stages to one that is competitive on the national level. The team capped off its first full season of racing by sending six riders to compete in the Collegiate National Championships. Tristan Cowie placed second in the cross country event, and 6th in the overall omnium, in spite of not racing any of the gravity events. Matt St. Marie and Joanne Tuttle placed 14th in the men’s and women’s cross country respectively. These and other strong results from Gattis Tyler, Nan Pugh, and Danny Cesare put the team in 9th place for the overall omnium. Brevard Closed out the season ranked 3rd in our conference, with several wins and almost 2 dozen top 5 A Category finishes during the season. With an emphasis on team development and growth, we are confident that we will improve on our level of competition significantly in the years to come, and hope to be in the running for a national title within a couple of years.
