Brevard College Football Adds Two to Coaching Staff
 
Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College athletics department along with head football coach Paul Hamilton are pleased to announce the addition of James Beverly and Arketa Banks to the football coaching staff.
 
Coach Beverly will be the Offensive Line Coach for the Tornados, as he brings with him a wealth of coaching experience at all levels. Coach Beverly has most currently served as the Assistant Head Coach of the Arkansas Twisters, an arena league football team. In 2007, he served as the Running Backs Coach at Charleston Southern University where he also was the video coordinator. Beverly has also served as an Offensive Line Coach, Defensive Line Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach at various levels from the arena football level and college level to the high school level.
 
Coach Beverly played offensive line at East Tennessee State University from 1995-1999 where he was a NSCA All-American in 1999 and an All-Conference Linemen in both 1998 and 1999.
 
Beverly went on to play professionally in NFL Europe and in the Arena Football League and attending training camp in 2000 with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League.
 
Coach Banks will be in charge of the Defensive Backs for the Tornados beginning in the spring of 2008. Banks has been a standout coach at the high school level, as he served as the Assistant Football Coach at Wakefield High School where he worked with both the quarterbacks, defensive backs and return specialist on the special team squads. Prior to that, Banks served as the Head Varsity Football Coach at Warren County High School in North Carolina.
 
Coach Banks was a four-year letterman at Elon University from 1999-2003. During his playing days at Elon, he was named to the Second Team All Big South in 2002 and was a member of the All Independent Team in 2001.
