Tornados Fall Short in the Independent Collegiate Invitational
Etowah, NC - The Brevard College Men's Golf team finished 3rd on Tuesday in their home event at Etowah Valley CC in Etowah, NC. The Independent Classic Invitational had two rounds which included 8 schools (2 South Atlantic Conference Opponents). After a grey and dreary day on Monday, Brevard found themselves in a two way tie with Mount Olive for 2nd behind leading SAC member, Carson-Newman. The better weather of day two didn't bring better scores for the Tornados as they found themselves in 3rd place 9 strokes behind the winner Mount Olive College. Overall Medalist was Scott Woodard (Mount Olive) with 74 73 - 147. Also placing on the all-tournament team were Jonathan Green (Mount Olive) 79 70 - 149 and Tyler Lane (Carson-Newman) 74 75 - 149 tied for 2nd. Brevard College's Thomas Bush 76 74 - 150 and Dane Fairfield (Carson-Newman) 76 74 - 150 tied for 4th.
