Men’s Golf Competes at Chick-fil-A College Invite
Rome, Ga. – The Brevard College men’s golf team was in action on Monday and Tuesday of this week as they traveled to Rome, Ga. to participate in the Chick-fil-A College Invitational hosted by Berry College.
As a team the men turned in round of 317 on Monday, but bounced back to improve 20 strokes on Tuesday, turning in a combined team round of 297 to finish the two day event with a 614, +38, which was good enough for a 17th-place finish for the tournament.
Leading the way for the Tornados was Thomas Bush, who carded a low round of 71, -1, on day two, to finish with a combined score of 151, +7, good enough to finish tied for 42nd-place overall.
BC’s David Martinez turned in rounds of 79 and 76 to finish with a 155, +11, and in a tie for 60th-place.
Also playing for the Tornados was Grant Carnie and Myles Johnson, who each shot a 157, +13, and Craig Galloway, who finished only one stroke behind his teammates with a 158, +14.
The Tornados 17th-place finish was better than seven other teams.
The Tornados will wrap up their fall season next week on October 22 and 23, when they will play in the Lincoln Memorial University Fall Invitational at the Woodlake Golf Club in Tazewell, T.N.
