Men’s Golf Takes Fourth In J. Ralph Hargett Invitational
Charlotte, N.C. – The Brevard College men’s golf team continued their great team play this week, as the Tornados finished tied for fourth-place overall with Belmont Abbey College in the J. Ralph Hargett Invitational tournament hosted by Wingate University in Charlotte, N.C.
After shooting a combined team first round score of 323, +35, on Monday, the Tornados came storming back to shoot a combined second round score of 306, +18, on Tuesday to place the Tornados in the top-five for the third straight tournament.
The combined second round score of 306 was not only the low combined team round score on day two, but for the entire tournament.
The Tornados were led by Grant Carnie, who turned in a team-low round of 72, even par, on Tuesday, to give him a two round score of 154, +10, for the tournament. The strong performance by Carnie in round two placed the sophomore in a tie for fifth-place overall for the event.
Junior Myles Johnston carded rounds of 78 and 80 for the two-day event to finish in a tie for 14th-place overall with a combined score of 158, +14.

Wingate University “A” team won the tournament with a team score of 617, +41, finishing six strokes ahead of second-place finisher Mount Olive College (623).
