Juan Mascaro
Head Coach Men’s Soccer
Taking over the men’s program on January 2007, Juan Mascaro will lead the Tornados into their first season as provisional member of the South Atlantic Conference next fall.
He comes to Brevard from Campbell University where he spent two seasons as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. During his first season at Campbell, he helped the Fighting Camels to advance into the 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. From this outstanding performance the Camels ended their season with a 6-3-1 league record and 8-9-2 overall. While at Campbell his duties included training the goalkeepers, recruiting coordinator and monitoring the academic progress of the student athletes.
Prior to Campbell, he was the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach for the University of Central Florida for five seasons. During his tenure, the Golden Knights were ranked as high as number-13 nationally and won the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. During his last three seasons with the Golden Knights the team finished with a 35-20-1 overall record. His main areas of responsibilities for the Knights included training the goalkeepers, recruiting coordinator assisting the head coach in all areas of team training.
A native of El Salvador, earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1994 and his Master of Arts in Applied Economics in 1999 from the University of Central Florida, and currently holds his NSCAA National Coaching Diploma earned in 1994 and Advanced National Diploma in 1995.
