Tornados Down Falcons in Double OT 2-1

Brevard, NC- The Brevard College Men’s Soccer team improved to 1-0 as they defeated the Falcons of Pfeiffer University (0-1) in their home opener at Brevard College in double overtime. This Tornado win is also the first for Juan Mascaro as a head coach.

The Tornados fell down 1-0 in the second period on a penalty kick for Pfeiffer at the 76:56 mark by Mathew Harris.

 The Tornados came roaring back on a rain soaked field with a Miro Mustonen (Helsinki, Finland) goal in the lower left corner as it passed by the diving Pfeiffer goalkeeper to tie the game up 1-1 with 7:53 left in regulation.

 It took the second overtime for Brevard College to take the victory as Kyle Hamilton (Peterhead, Scotland) scored the winning goal off of a loose ball in front of the net. The rebound came after a blocked shotbye Pfeiffer’s goalkeeper on a Ian Townson (Boiling Springs, SC) for the game winner.

The Brevard College Tornados will be in action against Anderson University this Saturday, August 26^th at 7:00 PM.
