BC Men’s Tennis Blanked By No. 35 Tusculum
Greeneville, T.N. – The Brevard College men’s tennis team took on perhaps their toughest opponent to date on Sunday afternoon, as they were shutout 9-0 by the No. 35 nationally ranked Tusculum Pioneers in Greeneville, T.N.
In doubles action, the Tornados were swept by the Pioneers to take an early 3-0 lead.
In singles play, the Tornados battled hard, but were unable to score a win over the highly talented Pioneer squad.
At the No. 4 singles spot, BC’s Shane Apps hung tight with Tusculum’s Henrique Rodrigues, as Apps battled back from a 6-3 first set loss to win the second set 7-5. However, Apps fell in the third set to Rodrigues 6-2, ultimately losing the match.

The Tornados will return to action on Tuesday, March 4, when they will travel to Jefferson City, T.N. to square off with the Eagles of Carson-Newman. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
