BC Men’s Tennis Falls At Division I Clemson University 7-0

Clemson, S.C. – The Brevard College men’s tennis team took on perhaps their toughest challenge to date on Monday evening, as the Tornados took on NCAA Division I and ACC affiliate Clemson University.

The Tornados played well, but ultimately fell to the Tigers 7-0 on Monday night.

Playing under the NCAA Division-I scoring rules, the three doubles matches account for one team point, with the point going to the team that wins at least two out of the three matches.

The Tigers took the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead over the Tornados as they swept all three doubles matches.

The BC freshman duo of Cole Altizer and Jared Fisher hung tough with the Tigers’ team of Kevin Galloway and Gera Boryachinsky in the No. 2 doubles match before falling 8-4.

In singles play, the Clemson Tigers won all six bouts in straight sets to seal the 7-0 win.

The Tornados (1-4) will return to SAC competition on Thursday, March 13, when they will travel to Newberry, S.C. to face off with the Newberry Indians. The match is slated for 2 p.m.
