Men’s Tennis Falls To Carson-Newman 6-3 on Tuesday Afternoon
 
Jefferson City, T.N. – The Brevard College men’s tennis team had their winning streak snapped at five on Tuesday afternoon, as the Tornados lost on the road at Carson-Newman 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Tornados fell behind early, as the Eagles took wins in all three doubles bouts. 
  
Down 3-0 heading into the singles play, the Tornados did not give up, but fell just short as BC scored wins in three out of the six singles bouts.
 
At the No. 2 doubles spot, BC’s Andrew Thompson stormed past Carson-Newman’s Adriano Kira, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
 
Freshman Cole Altizer scored a win over C-N’s Jack Harvie at the No. 4 spot, winning in what moved to be an exciting match 7-5, 7-5. 
 
Shane Apps bounced back from a second set 7-5 loss, to win the third set 6-2 and ultimately win the match over the Eagles’ Chris Acker, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
  
With the loss the Tornados fall to 6-6 on the year, while Carson-Newman improved to 3-1 for the season.
 
The Tornados will return to action on tomorrow afternoon, March 26, when they will host Mars Hill College at 3 p.m. at the tennis courts on the campus of Brevard College.
