Men's Tennis

The Brevard College men's tennis program enters 2007-2008 in its fourth year of competition. This will also mark their second year as a provisional NCAA DII program and first year as provisional members of the South Atlantic Conference.

The BC men return only two regulars from the top six performers from 2006-07, losing three players to graduation. The men will once again look to their newcomers to anchor their 2007-08 campaign.

“Freshmen Cole Altizer and Shane Apps will be great additions to our program. I am very pleased to have them as part of the Brevard family,” commented Coach Thomson.

Both players are expected to play big roles for this year’s team. The men also play a very challenging schedule including Tiffin University, UNCA and a visit to power house Clemson University.

“We’ll definitely get our moneys worth this year,” continued Thomson. “We play a great schedule and are looking forward to the opportunities and the challenges ahead.”

Head Coach Paul Thomson is entering his third year at Brevard. He has been focused on strong recruiting and developing players on and off of the courts.

“We are still not where we want to be but we are making great strides to become a strong competitive Division II program. I have been very blessed with the players and families we have been able to bring into the program. I am very excited about the direction that we are moving and am looking forward to the future of the program.”
