Holly Krogman Becomes All-Time Career Scoring Leader at Brevard College

Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College women basketball team’s senior co-captain Holly Krogman has recently re-written the Brevard College record books, as she is now the All-Time Career Scoring Leader in Brevard College women’s basketball history.

Krogman, who hails from Hickory, N.C., is averaging 18.6 points per game, leading both the Tornados and the entire South Atlantic Conference in scoring this season.

Krogman surpassed the previous record of 1,266 career-points, which was previously held by April Palmer.

On the season, Krogman has recorded 167 points over the Tornados first nine games and will continue to add to her record total as the Tornados have 18 games still remaining in 2007-08 season. The do-it-all senior leads the team in both points and rebounds on the season and has been the top scorer for the Tornados in six of the nine contests so far this season.

In her previous three seasons at Brevard College, Krogman has had a stellar career as last season she was named the Brevard College 2007 Female Athlete of the Year. In 2006-07 Krogman was also named to the Independents Collegiate Athletic Association Division II First Team as a junior, having been named to the AAC All-Conference Third Team as a sophomore the previous year as she lead the AAC in field goal percentage.

Krogman currently has 1,277 points for her career.

“Holly is the ideal student-athlete. She has been a great representative of our program in the classroom and both on and off the court,” commented head coach Bill Wilson. “If you met her, you would not think that she was the career scoring leader because she is one of the most unpretentious people you could ever meet.”

Brevard College, with an enrollment near 700, is located in Brevard, N.C. The Tornados are in their second year as NCAA Division II provisional members and will look to compete as full fledged NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference members beginning in the Fall of 2008.
