Tornados Fall to Virginia Intermont on the Road
 
Bristol, Va. – The Brevard College women’s basketball team played their third straight game on the road on Tuesday night, as they fell to Virginia Intermont College 77-66 in Bristol, Virginia.
 
The Tornados ran out to an early lead in the first half, pushing it up to as many as 12 points. However, the home team Virginia Intermont went on a run of its own to close out the first 20 minutes of play, cutting the lead to one at the halftime intermission.
 
BC battled a tough playing environment as well as foul trouble for most of the night as it began to take its toll in the second half.
 
Senior Holly Krogman led the Tornados with 17 points while freshman Amanda Whitaker had 13 points.
 
Virginia Intermont was led by Haley Odle, who poured in 33 points, going 13-of-23 from the floor.
 
The women’s basketball team will open up their 2007-08 home slate this Saturday night, November 24, when they will play host to Virginia State College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m.
