Brevard, N.C. - Thad Walker has been named full-time head Men’s and Women’s Cycling Coach for the Brevard College Tornados following a one-year stint as a part-time coach at the college. Clemson, S.C. - The SECCC Conference Championships were held this past weekend in Clemson, SC, with two full days of racing in both endurance and gravity events. Banner Elk, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Cycling team got to travel to Banner Elk, NC to preview the course where the 2008 National Championships will be held in late October. The course this weekend was extremely dusty and fast, and made for a challenging day of racing. In spite of several mechanicals in Saturday’s short track, including a broken chain and frame, the team was able to come back and race strong for Sunday’s cross country. Read more...

Georgia Tech Race
Matt Jones had the strongest showing of the weekend. Exerting 45 minutes of maximum effort to bring back the early breakaways, Jones held on for a strong fifth place finish and scored points in three of the races’ intermediate sprints.
