Tornados Blank Warren Wilson
Brevard, NC- The Brevard College women’s soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season as they blanked Warren Wilson College, 1-0.
The Tornados scored on an assist from Ashley Fincher to a streaking Carrilea Potter down the right side. Potter then placed the shot past the diving Warren Wilson goalkeeper in the upper left hand side of the net at 15:29 into the first half.
That would end up being the only goal of the game. The defense, led by midfielder Kayla Yingst, stepped up for the Tornados holding Warren Wilson scoreless for the remainder of the game.
The goal was Potter’s second of the season.
Tornados goalkeeper Sydney Douglas posted her first shutout of the season, corralling four saves on the day.
The Tornados will be in action again on Thursday, September 6, as they travel to Montreat College. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
