Brevard Blanked By Pioneers, 6-0
 
Brevard, N.C.- The Brevard College women’s soccer team fell to 3-7 for the year on Saturday afternoon, as they were defeated by the Tusculum Pioneers (7-3), 6-0 on the campus of Brevard College.
 
The Pioneers struck early with an unassisted goal by Danielle Tanner, putting the shot pass a BC’s keeper Sydney Douglas with only 1:28 ticked off the clock. Tusculum then attacked again in the first half with a corner kick by Nicole Ferris finding a wide open Lisa Adriano for the second score of the game, posting a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime period.
 
Tusculum College started the second half just like the first as they scored again at the 45:32 mark with a Jere Whitbred goal.
 
Also scoring for the Pioneers in the second period were Ally Mathews and Danielle Turner with Agnarsdottir picking up the assist on both of those goals.
 
Douglas was solid in the post for BC, picking up nine saves for the match as she faced 28 shots on the day.
 
BC put three shots on goal, but was unable to get one past TC’s Tori Hadjopoulos.
 
The Tornados will be in action again as they travel to Converse College on Wednesday, September 26. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
