BC Softball Drops Twin Bill at Southern Wesleyan
Central, S.C. – The Brevard College women’s softball team hit the road on Tuesday afternoon, falling to the Lady Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University in both games of a double-header.
The two losses drop the Tornados to 8-8 on the season.
Game 1: Southern Wesleyan 6, Brevard 2
In game one of the double-header on Tuesday afternoon, the Tornados fell to the Lady Warriors 6-2.
At the plate for the Tornados, Katie Thornburg was 0-2 with a sacrifice and an RBI, while sophomore Katie Brown was 0-2 with an RBI sacrifice fly.
BC third-baseman was 1-3 with a triple and a run scored, while Lindsey Morgan was 1-2 with a run scored.
The loss went to BC hurler Jennifer Gift, who fell to 5-5 on the season.
Game 2: Southern Wesleyan 9, Brevard 3
In the second game, the Lady Warriors pushed across nine runs for the game to help secure a 9-3 win over BC.
BC second-baseman Katie Thornburg was 3-4 with a two-run homerun and two runs scored. Kristin Tettemer was 2-4 with a run scored, while left-fielder Beth Brooker was 1-3 with an RBI.
The loss went to BC starter senior Aimee Rogers. Rogers falls to 3-3 on the year.
The Tornados (8-8) will not have long to rest, as BC hits the road again tomorrow afternoon when they will travel to Bristol, T.N. to take on King College. The double-header is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time.
