BC Women’s Softball Signs Two in Early Signing Period
 
Brevard, N.C. – The Brevard College athletics department along with head softball coach Britne’ Stubbs are pleased to announce that Chelsi Mallory and Maddie Fletcher have both signed a national letter of intent to attend Brevard College and play softball for the Tornados beginning in the fall of 2008.
 
Chelsi Mallory, who hails from Mechanicsville, Virginia, can play both the catcher and outfield positions. Mallory played under head coach Jackie Davis at Lee Davis High School, where she has to date received numerous accolades and awards. Last season, as a junior she was named to the First-Team All District, All-Region Honorable Mention, and the Lee Davis High School Offensive MVP. In 2006, she was named Second-Team All-District as a sophomore. As a freshman she was named Honorable Mention All-District.
 
While at Lee Davis High, Mallory was All-Academic for four-years and also competed on both the volleyball and basketball teams.
 
Maddie Fletcher, a 5-5 utility player from Charlotte, N.C., will come to Brevard College from Providence High School where she played under head coach Amanda Stefanski. Fletcher can play anywhere on the field and was given the Unsung Hero Award last season as a junior for her ability to always put the team first.
 
In the classroom, Fletcher is a member of the National Honor Society.
 
The Brevard College softball team will open up its 2008 spring season on February 2, when they will travel to Misenheimer, N.C. to face off with Pfeiffer University. The game time is slated for 1:30 p.m.
