MLK Celebration

A Community Celebration

Brevard College will join the Transylvania County/Brevard Human Relations Council, Bethel A Baptist Church, and Bethel Baptist Church in organizing a variety of activities in honor of Dr. King the weekend of January 16-18, 2010.

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the MLK Celebration weekend in Transylvania County.  More details about the schedule of events will be coming soon.

New this year at Brevard College is the MLK Challenge.

The MLK Challenge is an MLK Day of Service that seeks to engage college students in service in a fun and meaningful way. The basic principles of the day are the same as any other large service event – students are sent out into the community to complete service projects at non-profits – but there are several key things that set the MLK Challenge apart:  student planning committees (T-MOVE & BSU), random groups working on projects, challenging projects, loose instructions which gives the student's more ownership in the day and the accomplishments.

Brevard College Students who are interested in joining the challenge on Monday, January 18, 2010 can register now by clicking this link!
