The Clinic is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by a licensed health provider from Transylvania Regional Hospital. Medical Services has access to the full support of the hospital’s resources. Twice a week a Physician’s Assistant meet with students who need additional care and refers students, when necessary, to physicians in the community.
Transylvania Regional Hospital (located approximately 2 miles from the college) is a full service hospital with a fully staffed emergency room 24 hours a day. Physicians in town can be contacted by the student or the nurse will assist with appointments. Family practice, internists, and a full spectrum of specialists are available. The nurse is available for consult on any medical or dental problem and will talk to the student to try to find a physician or dentist who will meet their needs if this is necessary.
