Presidential Search Committee

The Brevard College Board of Trustees has appointed a 13-member committee drawn from Brevard College’s faculty, students, staff, alumni, trustees and community leaders to help select the College’s next president.

Donald L. Moore, Jr. is chairman of the Presidential Search Committee.  Moore, a Brevard native, is a member of Brevard College’s Board of Trustees.  Moore currently resides in Brevard.

 


Dr. John Boggs
is a member of Brevard College’s Trustees.  He is a 1974 graduate of Brevard College.  Boggs currently serves as district superintendent of the Asheville District of the WNC United Methodist Church Conference.  He lives in Asheville, N.C.

 

Reginald Heinitsh, Jr. is chairman of Brevard College’s Board of Trustees.  He is the owner and chairman of The Lake Toxaway Company and The Lake Toxaway Country Club, Inc. and lives in Brevard.

 


Robert S. Lawrence
is a member of Brevard College’s Board of Trustees.  He is a 1959 alumnus of Brevard College.  Lawrence is the retired vice president and general manager of Ecusta, P.H. Glatfelter Company and lives in Brevard.

 

Dr. Linda Martinson is a member of Brevard College’s Board of Trustees.  She is a retired headmaster and president of The Galloway School in Atlanta.  Previously, she was the vice president of Planning, Budget and Finance at Georgia Tech.  She is currently in the process of moving to Brevard fulltime.

 

Barbara Nesbitt is a member of the Board of Trustees.  She is the owner of Synergy Associates and a consultant for Wilson Learning Corporation, an international training firm.  She lives in Asheville, N.C.

 

Jack Parker, a member of the College’s Board of Trustees.  In addition to serving as a trustee, Parker is an active member of Brevard College’s Board of Visitors and Tornado Club.  He lives in Brevard.

 


Jimmy Harris
 is currently serving his fifth term as mayor of Brevard.  He is the owner of Ace Hardware in Brevard.

 

 

Dr. Tom Bell is an associate professor of Religion and Sacred Music and chair of Brevard College’s Faculty Council.

 

 

Dr. Ken Duke is the Dalton Professor of Environmental Studies and Ecology.  He is chair of the Division of Science and Mathematics and coordinator of the Environmental Studies major.  Duke also serves as faculty chair of Brevard College’s Strategic Planning Committee.

 

Ove Andersen has served as controller of Brevard College since 2008.

 


Alyse Hollingsworth
currently serves as Brevard College’s registrar.  She is an 1980 alumnus of Brevard College.

 

   

Lucy Matthews is president of Brevard College’s Student Government Association.  She is a junior majoring in Integrated Studies.
