The Presidential Search Committee agreed on March 21 to the following timetable and
series of goals:

In the next month, an interim president will be selected from a list of candidates prepared by Academic Search Inc. and approved by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.  The interim president will assume the office on June 1.

The next several months will be used to develop a Profile or Description of Brevard College that will guide the nomination and selection process of candidates.  The Committee will convene a series of open forums with campus constituencies to gather input about the characteristics and qualities desired for Brevard College’s 13th president.

The posting and advertising of the position will take place in early June and continue for two months with an aggressive recruitment effort to attract candidates who fit the desired attributes for the next president.

In late August and early September, the Committee will begin screening candidates confidentially and narrow the field to a smaller group to be interviewed off campus.  In late September and early October, finalists will be invited to campus for open interviews with key College constituencies.

The Board will receive the report of the Committee in early October and vote to choose the next president at a Board of Trustees meeting.
